Today Finland officially becomes first nation to make broadband a legal right

South Africans are currently paying exorbitant amounts of money for broadband connection while others are struggling everyday just to get a morsel of food in their tummies. Broadband as a basic legal right in South Africa is improbable given all the challenges we as a nation are facing.

Starting today (July 1), every Finnish citizen now has a guaranteed legal right to a least a 1Mbps broadband connection, putting it on the same footing as other legal rights in the country such as healthcare and education. Read full article here…
