Geek “Braai-Up” for National BraaiDay

RLabs have come alongside the Braai4Heritage campaign and we join them in their aim to position National Heritage Day, 24 September, as South Africa’s annual national day of celebration. The gathering of friends, families and Geeks around fires, being the central theme.

National Heritage Day is a public holiday in South Africa. Our government set this day aside for all South Africans to celebrate our rich heritage. The RLabs team invites all Geeks to South Africa’s first “Braai Up” at Tokai Forest for Networking around a fire.

So bring along your chop and join in the Celebration of South Africa uniting around a fire. The RLabs team will be at Tokai Forest between 12 and 3pm.

Entrance to the braai area is R5 per person and R2 per car. Tokai Forest braai area can be found on the right-hand side of Tokai Road, just before the Tokai Manor House. The braai area is open Monday to Sunday from 09h00 to 17h00. For more information, contact the Tokai Forest Picnic area on (021) 712 7471

“The successful networkers I know, the ones receiving tons of referrals and feeling truly happy about themselves, continually put the other person’s needs ahead of their own.” ~

Man behind National Braai Day gives away lamb…

Almost cannot read my own handwriting, but think this says @Clinton316 so congratulations! You now own a lamb. http://twitpic.com/1idiy4less than a minute ago via Tweetie

Above is the tweet I got informing me I was the new owner of a lamb. Roughly 2 weeks ago I entered a competition on Twitter where I could stand a chance to win 1 whole unit of South Africa’s national braai animal, the lamb.

When I saw the message from Jan (@janbraai on twitter) that notified me that I was the winner I was over the moon. It is the first time I win a competition online and hopefully the first of many. All that was required from me was to send a pic of either myself braaing of a pic of a braai and a few days later I own a lamb.

In the pic below i’m collecting my lamb from the butchery of my choice. Thanks Jan for a cool competition and well done on the great work you doing. Check out more about the work Jan is doing on http://braai4heritage.co.za/

PS: thanks Monique for the heads up! Follow her on twitter (@moniquetheron) promise you won’t be sorry.
